The Pittsburgh Penguins cannot escape injuries, even in Sochi, Russia. Defenseman Paul Martin, who has been playing for Team USA in the 2014 Olympics, was injured in their quarterfinal game against the Czech Republic, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. It is reportedly a hand injury that will force him out of the lineup for today’s big showdown against Canada. Martin is currently wearing a splint and could be in a cast shortly. He will be re-evaluated in Pittsburgh when he returns home.
