It appears the Pittsburgh Penguins will once again have to wait to see what young forward Beau Bennett can do in a full NHL season. Bennett underwent surgery yesterday for a broken wrist/hand, per head coach Dan Bylsma. The soon to be 22-year-old left Friday’s game against the New York Islanders and never returned. Bennett has had wrist issues in the past, which caused him to miss the majority of his second season with the University of Denver. However, that was his right wrist. This injury has been speculated to be on the left. Regardless, the Penguins will be without Bennett until after the Olympics most likely. The team called up forwards Zach Sill and Andrew Ebbett from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and placed Bennett on injured reserve.
