Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma has announced many injury updates for his team this season. After today’s morning skate, he had another one. Bylsma told the media that center Evgeni Malkin will miss 2-3 weeks with a foot injury. According to Bylsma, the doctors have not indicated if Malkin will need surgery. Malkin injured his foot on his first shift against the St. Louis Blues on Sunday afternoon. The timing of this injury is very unfortunate since Malkin had been starting to heat up with 4 goals and 2 assists in the past 3 games. Rob Rossi of the Tribune Review said that the expectation is for Malkin to return for the playoffs if not before.
