James Neal Diagnosed with a Concussion

Another game, another injury for the Pittsburgh Penguins. With Sidney Crosby, Kris Letang, and Paul Martin already out of the lineup because of injuries, Dan Bylsma announced today that James Neal was diagnosed with a concussion after taking an elbow to the thin from the New York Rangers’ Michael Del Zotto. Neal will not go on the three-game road trip with the Penguins. The 25-year old forward has registered 18 goals and and 32 points in 39 games this season. Although this is not good news, there was a couple of good things to see at practice today.

Letang returned to the team’s practice for the first time today since he was injured five games ago. It is not known when Letang will be back in Pittsburgh’s starting lineup as he is listed as day-to-day.

Crosby spoke to the media for the first time today after breaking his jaw on March 30th in a game against the New York Islanders. He said that he is getting better, but does not know when he will return to action. Check out the full media scrum here (Courtesy of Pens TV):
