Penguins Development Camp Report: Day 1 (With Audio)

 

The Pittsburgh Penguins will be kicking off their 2012 Development Camp on-ice workouts here at the CONSOL Energy Center at 2:00 PM EST. As we await the prospects, we were able to talk to a number of the players and coaches. Listen to them below:

Forwards Beau Bennett and Dominik Uher, who just signed entry-level contracts recently with the Penguins, both looked sharp today. Bennett shot a nice wrist shot past goaltender Sean Maguire and was skating well after a tough season last year dealing with injuries. There was one point where Uher had scored five goals in a row.

As many draft experts pointed out before the Penguins picked him in the fourth round of the 2012 NHL Draft, forward Matia Marcantuoni is extremely fast and he was showing off his wheels today.
