Pittsburgh Penguins and Kris Letang Reach Agreement


The Kris Letang contract negotiations have officially ended.  The Penguins and star defensemen have agreed to terms on an eight-year, $58 million contract extension that will keep Letang in Black and Vegas Gold.

Letang has one-year remaining on his current deal which has a cap hit of $3.5 million. The extension begins with the 2014-15 season and runs through the 2021-22 season, and has an average annual value of $7.25 million. He will be 35 years old at the end of the terms of the contract.
