After forward Dustin Jeffrey was claimed by Dallas yesterday, the Pittsburgh Penguins had an opening on their active roster. The team just announced that forward Brian Gibbons will be filling that roster spot as he was recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The 25-year-old currently leads Pittsburgh’s AHL affiliate in assists (15) and points (22). His 22 points in 15 games played rank third in the AHL. Gibbons signed with the Penguins as an undrafted free agent in April 2011 and has been a good story so far this year for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Menga! Menga! Menga! What are we doing? Every game it's someone different. These guys are getting one night to show what they can do. No pressure...and to me (which matters zero) Menga has already shown he can play. His first game was weak, then he found his cofidence. Sill wasn't given a second game, why not? Bring up Despres and move Engelland to wing. He was able to find the back of the net, along with Menga. Just don't get where we're going with the one night stands. At least give them more time to get comfy, i.e. Menga. Also, good luck DJ. We hardly knew ye. Go Pens!
