GAME DAY REPORT: Game 36 – Islanders at Penguins

Published on March 30th, 2013

Just one week ago, the Penguins were still in the middle of a winning streak and played the Islanders with what seems like a completely different team. Jarome Iginla, Brenden Morrow and Douglas Murray were not yet Penguins and Beau Bennett was still on the team.

Today, the Penguins look for a franchise-record 12th straight home victory and the 15th in a row against a New York Islanders who is looking to make the playoffs. Today’s game marks the fifth and final meeting between the two clubs. This could be a possible first-round playoff preview.
