Days after Mario Lemieux, David Morehouse, and Ron Burkle apologized for the NHL lockout, the Pittsburgh Penguins announced plans that the franchise hopes will make fans happy. First, all training camp sessions held at the CONSOL Energy Center will be open to the public. Some sessions in previous years were not open to the public. The team also announced that during the first four home games, all fans in attendance will receive one voucher to receive three free concessions such as hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, nachos, pretzels, popcorn, salads, and soft drinks. In addition, all team merchandise will be 50% off during the first four home games. At the first fifteen home games, the Penguins will give out promotional items. The only one that has been announced is a gold “A Great Day For Hockey” t-shirt that will be given out at the home opener. The complete schedule could be released as soon as Saturday.
