Things just got a bit more interesting on the Kris Letang front. Letang, who is currently in contract negotiations with Penguins general manager Ray Shero, has received a pretty good offer from the Penguins, according to TSN’s Darren Dreger. Dreger appeared on TSN Radio this morning and had the following to say about the offer:
“If they have already committed to paying him a hair more than $7 million per times 8 years, then I don’t believe that they’re going to panic if the negotiation isn’t going brilliantly to start and say alright, let’s move him now. I still think that he stays in Pittsburgh, just a bit more time is needed.
If this is true, it appears that the ball is in Letang’s court now.
