Malkin Tears MCL & ACL: Season Likely Over

The Pens got some horrible news at practice this morning as they were told the results of Evgeni Malkin’s MRI. The results, a torn MCL and ACL.

Currently the Pens and Malkin are seeking a second opinion. Surgery is the likely possibility, but they’re not sure if there is a rehab possibility.

The injury will obviously put an end to Malkin’s season.  The Penguins are 9-1 without Malkin this season and won a 3-2 decision last night against Buffalo after Malkin left in the second period with the injury.
