Pens Cut Tangradi, Six Others

UPDATE: Nick Johnson was claimed by the Minnesota Wild on Thursday. Johnson, 25, was drafted by the Penguins in 2004 and will now play for Mike Yeo, the Penguins’ former assistant coach.

The Pittsburgh Penguins reduced their roster down to 32 players by cutting seven players today. Six of the seven will be sent to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and one will return to juniors. Here are the players that were cut:
Sent to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton:
F Ryan Craig (Must clear waivers)
F Nick Johnson (Must clear waivers)
F Colin McDonald (Must clear waivers)
F Eric Tangradi
G Brad Thiessen
G Scott Munroe (Must clear waivers)
Sent to Juniors:
D Scott Harrington (London of the OHL)
