Playoff Watch: April 4, 2011

From now until the start of the playoffs, we will be looking at each matchup that can change the conference standings. First, here is how the Eastern Conference is looking as of this morning:
In case you didn’t know, the top eight teams in the conference make the playoffs. Five of those spots have been clinched already. Five teams are fighting for those final three spots in the Eastern Conference.

Game To Watch:

Boston Bruins at New York Rangers at 7:30 PM on Versus.

While the Bruins have clinched the North East division, the Rangers can move up to the seventh spot in the East with a win tonight. Currently in the eighth spot, New York has won two of the three meetings with the Bruins. Both teams are coming into the game hot. Boston is 6-2-2 in their last ten and New York is 7-2-1 in that span. These two teams could meet in the playoffs in the first round if New York can move up.
